San Francisco's Cake Picnic at Treasure Island next month might just be the grandest one yet.
State of play: The large community event celebrates cakes of all types and sizes. Participants bring them to share and then sample others' creations.
How it works: You must bring a whole cake to attend the event. Tickets go on sale today at 5pm.
Catch up quick: The last event took place in March at the Legion of Honor, featuring nearly 1,400 colorful cakes. Organizers are aiming for 2,000 cakes this time.
If you go: 12-3pm on Oct. 19 at Cityside Park at 387 Avenue of the Palms.
