1 fun thing: An evening in the Excelsior

Kick off the weekend in the Excelsior tonight with a taco tour, night market and pours from Mexico's top wine-producing region.

What to expect: The tour includes five tacos from five spots, including Taqueria La Iguana Azul, El Farolito and El Gran Taco Loco. Diners can go on their own ($20) or join a guided tour ($50).

• The night market features photo opportunities with luchadores, local vendors, live music and more.

State of play: Head to Tala Wine afterwards to try a special flight with four wines ($20) from Vinos Pijoán in Baja California's Valle de Guadalupe.

• The family-owned winery, founded by winemaker Pau Pijoán in 2002, is known for its terroir-driven varietals, which are made with native yeasts and minimal intervention.
• Many vintages honor family members — including the Silvana (2023), an aromatic white named after his daughter, who is a rising star in Mexico's natural wine scene.
