San Francisco is full of amazing parks and delicious deli sandwiches — but which are the best to eat in the best parks?
State of play: I'm on a mission to find San Francisco's top sandwich joints within a block or so of our city's favorite parks.
Dig in: For my first stop, I hit up Lucinda's Deli on Scott Street, just steps from Alamo Square Park. I got my favorite: the Roast Beef sub with blue cheese mayo, onion jam, Thai BBQ sauce, arugula, pickled red onion and crispy onions.
The tangy blue cheese and pickled onions offset the beef and the crispy onions add a chip-like crunch.
My thought bubble: I'm an Australian at heart, but Aussie sandwiches are nothing compared to America's humungous hoagies.
If you go: Open 11am-4pm Monday through Friday and 10am-3pm weekends at 535 Scott St.
