Best thing I ate this week: Duck ragù pappardelle

What I ate: Of the four dishes I tried, my favorite was the duck ragù pappardelle ($28) with chanterelle mushrooms and drizzled with salsa verde.

• My husband and I also thoroughly enjoyed the dense gnudi (gnocchi-like dumplings) served with a decadent Taleggio fonduta ($26), an Italian cheese sauce similar to Swiss fondue.

My thought bubble: The food is just as quirky and fun as the wine selection, which boasts an eclectic list of funky pet-nats, chilled reds and my personal favorite — champagne, which they correctly label on the menu as "the greatest beverage ever created."
