👋Hi! I'm Nadia Lopez, the newest addition to Axios San Francisco. I'm beyond excited to be here.
A little about me: I arrived in San Francisco 12 years ago after making the journey north for college to escape the suburban hellscape of my native Southern California. I can't say I've regretted it. I love this city for all of its quirks and that's why I choose to call it home.
I previously worked at Bloomberg, where I wrote about the economy and the intersection of housing, climate and politics.
Before that, I covered the environment for CalMatters and reported on the Central Valley's Latino communities for the Fresno Bee.
I also worked for San Jose Spotlight as a City Hall reporter.
🏡 I live in Cole Valley, where you can spot me walking my dog Mimi, complaining about the prices at Luke's Local or buying tamales from Juan Manuel in front of Cole Hardware on the weekend.
🌁A few of my favorite SF things: Terror Tuesdays at Alamo Drafthouse, hiking the trails in Sutro Heights, sunsets at Ocean Beach, sipping martinis at the Hideout, Maillards' smash burger at the Outer Sunset Farmers Market and watching dogs play at Fort Funston.
➡️ What's next: Say hi, share tips and tell me what you'd like to see me write about in the newsletter at [email protected].
