Here's where students impacted by SF school closures would go

What they're saying: "We're still fighting to not let them close our school because it's such a special place," Sara Sullivan, whose son attends the impacted San Francisco Community School, told KQED.

• "It's a lot of kids [who] haven't had a lot of resources in schools …And now, they're telling us that they're going to close us because we're not good enough," she added. "That is not OK. That is not equity."

State of play: More details about how students would be reassigned have since emerged.

Here's the proposal, as reported by the San Francisco Chronicle:

• Yick Wo students would be assigned to Redding and Sherman elementary schools.
• El Dorado would merge with Visitacion Valley Elementary.
• Harvey Milk would merge with Sanchez Elementary.
• Parker students would be assigned to Lau for the Chinese biliteracy program or Chin Elementary.
• Malcolm X would merge with Carver Elementary.

• San Francisco Community School would merge with Revere.
• San Francisco Public Montessori would merge with Rosa Parks Elementary.
• Spring Valley would merge with John Muir Elementary.
• Sutro students would be assigned to Lafayette, Alamo or the Chinese Immersion School for the Cantonese biliteracy program.
• June Jordan School for Equity would merge with O'Connell High.
• The Academy would merge with Wallenberg High.

What to watch: SFUSD says it plans to partner with a third party to conduct an audit in an effort to ensure that historically underserved students don't disproportionately "bear the burden" of school closures.
