The average asking rent in the Bay Areais up slightly up from a year earlier and from the end of 2019, according to CoStar Group data.
By the numbers: Rent was up almost 1% in the second quarter of this year compared to the end of 2019, as well as compared to Q2 2023.
Between the lines: San Francisco's Board of Supervisors last week approved an ordinance to ban rent-fixing software in an attempt to bring down rents in the city, KRON4 reports.
Mayor London Breed, however, still needs to approve the legislation.
