Our Axios crew from left to right: Claire Reilly (Axios SF video producer), Hadley Malcolm (Axios Local deputy managing editor), Shawna Chen (Axios SF reporter), Megan Rose Dickey (Axios SF reporter) and Ross Terrell (Axios SF editor).
The Axios gang rolled up to the ballpark Monday night to watch the Giants nearly lose at the hands of the worst team in baseball, the Chicago White Sox.
Driving the news: Our editors Ross and Hadley were in town so us locals showed them the ropes.
They shot down our idea to sit behind home plate, but the compromise was sneaking into the lower section near the foul pole.
The vibe: It was Harry Potter night, so we saw a good deal of wizarding robes.
We jumped to our feet when third baseman Matt Chapman hit a home run in the sixth inning, grooved to DJ Umami and tried not to spill our caramelized popcorn onto the ground.
The game capped off a day of good food and company — though Ross, an Atlanta native, really wasn't a fan of the nighttime temperatures.
What we're watching: The Giants are now four games behind the last spot in the National League wild card race.
