Some folks celebrated Juneteenth early at a celebration in the Fillmore over the weekend.
Driving the news: Saturday's event was all about community, featuring a performance from gospel star Yolanda Adams, a dance competition and more.
If you missed it, there's still time to get in on the action tomorrow at various Juneteenth events.
Two ideas: Head over to the African American Art & Culture Complex for a block party from 11am-6pm and/or catch a screening of "Do the Right Thing" at the Alamo Drafthouse.
