Noe Valley has a ray of Mexican sunshine with the opening of Todo El Dia on 24th Street.

Driving the news: Launched by the team behind Tacolicious, the restaurant takes the bright flavors that made Tacolicious so beloved — think zingy salsas and hot-from-the-fryer camarón frito — and give them a hit of California cuisine, with ingredients like grilled summer squash and free-range chile verde chicken.

The vibes: Immaculate, with a back courtyard that felt fresh out of Palm Springs: all splashes of bright pink, festoon lighting and dappled shade. The staff was friendly and the food was excellent.

My pick: I'm normally a "carnitas-'til-I-die" kid, but don't sleep on the cauliflower taco. It's perfectly seasoned, with the right hit of spice.
