SF weekend events: Easter with drag queens, BYOBW

There's plenty going on this weekend โ€” from Easter celebrations and pop-ups to Transgender Day of Visibility homages and more.

Here's what to scope out:


๐Ÿฟ San Francisco's free spring outdoor movie night series kicks off with "Barbie."

  • 8pm at the PROXY Walk-In Theater.


๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€โšง๏ธ The Exploratorium will host over 650 science and art exhibits alongside music performances and poetry to honor Transgender Day of Visibility.

  • 11am-4pm at Pier 15. Tickets range $29.95 from $39.95. Free for children under 3.

๐Ÿงถ The Pop-Ups on the Plaza series celebrates Black women makers in the Bay with food, crafts and community.

  • 9am-2pm at the Embarcadero Ferry Terminal Plaza and Ferry Plaza Farmers Market.


๐Ÿ‡ The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence host their annual Easter in the Park featuring Foxy Mary and Hunky Jesus contests, egg hunts and drag performances.

  • 10am in Dolores Park.

๐Ÿฅš The Sunset Mercantile will hold its own egg hunt as well as other activities like traditional Ukrainian pysanky egg coloring pages.

  • 9am-2pm at the Outer Sunset Farmers Market.

๐Ÿ›ž Dozens of contestants will participate in the Bring Your Own Big Wheel race along Vermont and 20th.

  • 3-5pm in Potrero Hill.
