49ers seek triumph 42 years after first Super Bowl win

The San Francisco 49ers are currently listed as favorites to take home this year's Super Bowl trophy. If they win, it'd be the team's sixth trophy since the franchise's establishment.

Flashback: Their first was a 26-21 win against the Cincinnati Bengals in 1982, and kicked off San Francisco's run as the NFL's "Team of the '80s." They've won the title five times, in 1982, 1985, 1989, 1990, and 1995.

The 49ers' Joe Montana, who was named Super Bowl MVP that year, went on to become one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time.

What to watch: The team is set to begin its postseason run at Levi's Stadium the weekend of Jan. 20. Tickets are available now.
