State of play: It's unclear where the Palantir headquarters is located or how many jobs it's expected to bring.

Palantir did not immediately respond to Axios' request for comment Tuesday.

The big picture: The company, founded in the early 2000s, is a leader in AI systems and data analysis, but faces criticism for its strong ties to the federal government, specifically Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
