Basel and Art Miami can be overwhelming. So if you're trying to avoid the crowds (we can't promise you'll avoid the traffic), we've rounded up a few events that may be more your speed.
- If you are looking for art and Basel-related events, we've got you covered on concerts, fairs that celebrate Black artists, events on a budget and more.
🥂 Holiday Harbour at Regatta Grove begins Thursday and runs through Dec. 28. The Coconut Grove hot spot transforms into a winter wonderland with holiday drinks, toy drives and fun for all ages.
- Drink specials and events vary, depending on the day. Free entry.
🐊 The Swamp Heritage Festival is back to celebrate Big Cypress National Preserve with artist demos, cultural presentations and family-friendly activities.
- The theme, "Art Meets the Wild," showcases how the landscape inspires creativity.
- Saturday, Nathaniel P. Reed Visitor Center grounds, 10am-3:30pm. Free.
🏃 The 8th annual Tank Beer Run 5K is a fun race for beer lovers and runners of all levels (walkers welcome). The event will feature food, live music, games and more.
- Saturday, The Tank Brewing Co., 4pm.
- Registration: $45, includes race shirt, medal and one complimentary beer.
🎨 Art Cafe at El Studio invites guests to unplug for a few hours to create art in a relaxing space. Guests can choose their preferred medium (paint, collage, clay).
- Saturday, 4pm. Tickets: $50.
🎅 Holiday Celebration at the Park includes carnival rides, family-friendly activities and live performances.
- Saturday, Doral Central Park, 4pm-8pm.
- Free entry. Tickets required for rides and on-site parking.
🎄 Holiday Village on Historic Flagler Street, hosted by the Miami Downtown Development Authority, kicks off this weekend with free family activities (a dance class!), live performances and more.
- "Dancing through the Holidays" is this weekend's theme.
- Sunday, 2pm-6pm. This event will also occur on Dec. 14 and 21.
