More young Miamians live with their parents compared to the national average, per new stats from the Pew Research Center.
About 26% of Miami adults aged 25-34 were living in a parent's home as of 2023.
That's above the national average of nearly 18%.
Between the lines: Metros with more white young adults than average tend to have lower-than-average shares of young adults overall living with their parents.
That jives with longstanding findings that white young adults are less likely than others to live with their parents, per Pew.
The bottom line: Living at home as a young adult can sometimes be viewed negatively, but it can also be the result of economic realities, cultural preferences and caregiving needs, among other factors.
