2025 James Beard: Miami restaurants, chefs nominated for awards

• Last year, Miami earned five nominations.

State of plate: This year's nominees were mostly newcomers, but Miami Beach favorite Macchialina was again recognized.

• Outstanding Restaurant: Ghee Indian Kitchen
• Outstanding Wine and Other Beverages Program: Macchialina
• Outstanding Bar: Café La Trova on Calle Ocho
• Best New Bar: ViceVersa in Downtown
• Best Chef — South: Nando Chang of Itamae AO in Midtown

Of note: Itamae AO was recently added to the Michelin Guide.

• And Chang's sister, Valerie Chang of Maty's, won best chef in the same category last year.
