Colorado ski resort opening dates for the 2026-27 season

If the winter forecast holds, the Colorado ski season could start in a month.

State of play: Arapahoe Basin, Keystone, Wolf Creek and Winter Park compete each year to open first — typically in late October or early November — but that's dependent on snowmaking and Mother Nature.

📆 Other ski areas set a tentative date, so mark your calendars.

Nov. 6: Copper Mountain, Loveland and Breckenridge

Nov. 13: Vail and Eldora

Nov. 20: Purgatory and Powderhorn

Nov. 21: Steamboat

Nov. 25: Beaver Creek and Crested Butte

Nov. 26: Aspen, Snowmass and Telluride

Dec. 9: Ski Cooper

Dec. 12: Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk

Dec. 31: Silverton
