Fresh off his historic appearance at the FIFA World Cup, 18-year-old Colorado Rapids defender Lucas Herrington returns to MLS action this month as an All-Star.
Why it matters: The teenage sensation, who became the youngest player to start a World Cup game for Australia in June, earned his first career MLS All-Star selection, the club announced yesterday.
Between the lines: Herrington's selection comes during his debut season in the league, making him the only player to accomplish the feat along with Chicago Fire FC defender Mekezeli Mbokazi.
The MLS announced 29 players were selected. MLS All-Star head coach Dean Smith and the league picked Herrington to join the squad.
What's next: Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte hosts the 2026 MLS All-Star game July 29.
