New restaurants, new booze and a speakeasy — Denver's food scene is cookin'. Here's the latest news to know.
😋 The highly anticipated Madeline restaurant is now open on 6th Avenue in the former Fruition space.
- It's the first brick-and-mortar restaurant from Chef Quincy Cherrett, who is reimagining familiar flavors with unexpected twists.
🌮 Taco Bell Cantina is now open at Denver International Airport near Gate A49.
- It will serve alcoholic beverages later this summer. Hours are 10am to 6pm.
🕺 Jack's Modern Steakhouse recently debuted its new speakeasy, the Blind Tiger, at the restaurant.
- The accompanying music lounge opens today.
🥈 Alma Fonda Fina was recently named the second-best U.S. restaurant in Food & Wine magazine's annual Global Tastemakers Awards. Kabawa, a Caribbean food restaurant in New York City, took first place.
- In addition, Yacht Club landed in the top 10 bars and DIA earned a nod for top food and drink at a U.S. airport.
🍴 Wide Open Saloon in Sedalia is partnering with Riot BBQ, led by Chef Manny Barella and Pitmaster Patrick Klaiber, to offer barbecue on its menu as it evolves into a destination for music and dining.
🥃 Root Shoot Spirits, fresh from being named Spirit of the Year in the U.S., is releasing its first Homestead High Proof Series with a blend of four- and five-year American single malt whiskey, bottled at 120 proof.
🎟️ Stranahan's Distillery is hosting the Plates & Purpose Culinary Challenge from noon to 5pm June 7. The event features top chefs in a live-cooking contest that raises money for the Great Deeds Foundation.
- Tickets include food and a cocktail for $45.
