Four years after opening Colorado Glass Works in downtown Boulder, stained glass artist Meggy Wilm says her shop has grown beyond what she imagined.

Why it matters: As one of the few stained glass shops in Colorado, Wilm has carved out a niche selling glass, repairing windows and offering intimate classes.

What to expect: In addition to selling pieces, the shop offers classes for all experience levels, including popular date-night classes in which the glass is pre-cut but participants take home a piece at the end of the session.

• "It gives people a chance to dabble and experience stained glass," Wilm said.
• Wilm said even those who don't consider themselves artistic can get into glass, as the step-by-step process — paired with the creativity needed to envision a final piece — "tickles everyone's fancy a bit."
