How to donate to local organizations on Colorado Gives Day

How it works: Tuesday is the last day the Colorado Gives Foundation will match monthly contributions made on ColoradoGivesDay.org after starting early giving on Nov. 1.

• The organization matches up to $100 donations.

By the numbers: Coloradans raised $54.8 million last year, with more than 95,000 donors contributing to well over 4,600 nonprofits, per the Colorado Gives Foundation.

• Donors have raised $524.6 million for local nonprofits since 2010.

Between the lines: Organization can be searched easily online by type, size and even state tax credits. Last year, the drive helped raise $12,800 per nonprofit.

• All nonprofits listed are 501(c)(3) organizations.

The bottom line: During a year when many people are cutting back on spending, Colorado Gives Day is a simple, selfless way to lend neighbors a hand.
