Denver is eager to show off its festive spirit this time of year. And we have the must-visit places to find holiday cheer.
Zoom in: Here are the 10 best seasonal celebrations to put on your list.
- Denver Botanic Gardens hosts Blossoms of Light, featuring a magnificent display covering the entire grounds. The event runs through Jan. 11. Tickets start at $29.
- The Denver Christkindlmarket is now open at the Auraria campus and runs through Dec. 23. It's a one-stop shop for finding holiday trinkets and stocking stuffers. Free.
- Watch city hall's luminous display come to life at Civic Center Park starting this weekend. Free.
- Mile High United Way's Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning is now in its 52nd year and attracts more than 10,000 runners and walkers. The event starts at 9am and includes a costume contest and 1-mile family fun run. Registration starts at $55.24.
- The annual Parade of Lights takes place Dec. 6 in downtown Denver. It features more than 40 parade entries, including floats and marching bands. Free.
- The Mile High Drone Show returns for a second year. 600 drones will form festive creations in the skies over west Denver, near the Auraria campus. The show starts at 7pm each night, Nov. 22 to Dec. 31. Free.
- Head to the Denver Performing Arts Center for holiday live performances. "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical" is playing Dec. 3-7 at the Buell Theatre and "A Christmas Carol" is showing Nov. 21-Dec. 28. Ticket prices vary.
- Take a colorful stroll through lighted pathways and exhibits for Zoo Lights. It's open select nights from Nov. 24 to Jan. 4. Tickets start at $30.
- Camp Christmas returns to Stanley Marketplace in Aurora with its over-the-top holiday decor, three bars and visits with Santa. Open through Dec. 28. Free.
- Gaylord Rockies is celebrating the season with massive ice sculptures that bring to life characters from Dr. Seuss' "How the Grinch Stole Christmas!" Other festive activities include a Yuletide Street Market and snow tubing. Ticket prices vary.
