Denver's dining scene is on a tear, with more than 40 metro-area spots opening in October alone, Westword reports.
Yes, but: Despite the boom, the city has experienced one of the sharpest drops in restaurant spending nationwide — down 6.7% in September compared to a year ago, Denverite writes, citing data from Bank of America.
- We've also said goodbye to some beloved staples, including Q House, For[a]ged, Brider and Secret Garden Bar & Cafe.
The big picture: Even so, there's plenty to toast. Here are 10 new restaurants bringing the buzz:
🍹 Cimera: The Source Hotel's new rooftop restaurant brings bold Pan-Latin flavors, strong cocktails and sweeping mountain views.
🌮 Molino Chido: James Beard semifinalist Tommy Lee, who opened Uncle and Hop Alley, and Michael Diaz de Leon, who won a Michelin star at Bruto, have teamed up for a Mexico City-style taqueria in Stanley Marketplace.
🥟 Ma's Kitchen: This casual Chinese eatery imagined by the Okinawa team serves dim sum and noodles near City Park. Pro tip: Don't skip the clay pot eggplant. It's a standout.
🍝 Boombots Pasta Shop: This Sunnyside newcomer from the Odie B's crew puts a spin on the classics — think "dirty martini bucatini" and a "big ass" mozzarella stick.
🍜 Insee Father Noodle House: This fast-casual noodle spot is the sister restaurant of Daughter Thai Kitchen & Bar on Platte Street, which sits just next door. The new joint serves Thai street food.
🥩 Broadway 10 Bar & Chophouse: Cherry Creek's sleek new steakhouse brings wood-fired meats, sushi and craft cocktails from its original Oklahoma City roots.
🎶 Malinche Audiobar: This moody LoHi lounge from La Diabla chef Jose Avila is part mezcal bar, part listening room and serves Japanese-style skewers.
🌭 Biker Jim's: The cult-favorite hot dog stand is back. After stepping away in 2024, "Biker" Jim Pittenger returns this Saturday with a new Avanti Denver spot featuring fan favorites, plus brunch and dessert options.
🥪 Camino: The Ultreia team at Union Station has debuted a grab-and-go Iberian kiosk slinging inventive bocadillos, bowls and salads.
🕯️ The Guest: Experience an 11-course tasting menu, priced at $190 per person, inside The Regular event space on Market Street. Reservations are sold out at the high-end spot for the next six weeks, Westword reports, but will reopen every 60 days.
What we're watching: Michelin-starred duo Johnny and Kasie Curiel — the masterminds behind Alma Fonda Fina, Mezcaleria Alma and Alteño — are working on Mar Bella Boqueria, a Spanish "neo-bistro" and wine bar set to open this winter at the Clayton Hotel & Members Club.
