Winter Park is offering a limited-availability ski pass that costs an eye-popping $2,499 and provides the ultimate mountain experience.
Why it matters: The pay-for-access culture is ruining the sport for some skiers and riders.
How it works: The Winter Park Reserve Pass includes priority line access at five of the ski areas' major lifts and early access before lifts open to standard pass holders.
The best perk is possibly reserved, covered parking with a one-minute walk to the gondola.
What they're saying: Resort operator, Alterra Mountain Company, got the idea from consumer research, spokesperson Jen Miller told CPR.
"Looking at other hospitality businesses and what some other businesses, like airlines and amusement parks, have done, we sort of modeled it after that," Miller said.
