Walk the red carpet and meet filmmakers and celebrities this weekend at the Denver Film Fest.
State of play: The 10-day event's 48th year spotlights 136 feature-length films, documentaries and shorts.
The opening night red carpet film at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House is Netflix's "Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery."
The festival will close Nov. 8 with the world premiere of "Elway," a collaboration with Netflix and Peyton Manning's Omaha Productions.
What they're saying: "We look for a well-balanced program," Denver Film Festival artistic director Matthew Campbell told us. "We are looking for films from around the world and highlighting our local filmmakers."

English-American actor and theater director Delroy Lindo, who will receive Denver Film's Next50 Career Achievement Award following a special screening of "Sinners" on Saturday at the Sie FilmCenter.
Actress, director and producer Niecy Nash-Betts, who will take home the fourth CinemaQ LaBahn Ikon Award on Sunday at Denver Botanic Gardens.
Filmmaker Gus Van Sant, who will receive the Excellence in Directing Award for his work on "Dead Man's Wire" — screening Nov. 4 at the MCA Denver.
Actor, producer and visual artist Lucy Liu, who will get the John Cassavetes Award at a screening of "Rosemead" on Nov. 8 at the MCA Denver.
