The odd-year election is generating significant attention across the state, where local ballot measures hold major stakes.
Why it matters: In lower-interest elections, every vote carries greater weight.
State of play: In Denver, a $950 million city bond and majority stake on the school board are driving interest, while dozens of other municipalities consider big-dollar tax and mill levy questions.
- Colorado-wide, propositions LL and MM will decide whether the state will offer free meals at school for all students.
How to vote in Colorado
Election Day is Nov. 4, with polls open 7am-7pm.
- Mail ballots began to arrive on Oct. 10. You can take them to a nearby drop box or voting center. If you mail your ballot back, it needs one Forever stamp.
- Denver started in-person voting Oct. 20 at the Wellington Webb building downtown and expands to voting centers Oct. 27.
- If you didn't receive a ballot in the mail, update your voter registration. (Check your registration.)
How it works: You must be 18 years or older and a U.S. citizen to vote in Colorado. You can register to vote with a valid ID through Election Day.
