A new outdoor exhibit is bringing the traditions from Mexico's Dia de los Muertos to the heart of downtown Denver.
The big picture:Catrinas en Mi Ciudad features towering, colorful and vibrant pieces created by renowned artists inside the Denver Performing Arts Complex (DPAC).
Mexican artists include Jaen CartonerÃa — who creates massive pieces for the festival — as well as Ricardo Soltero, Colección Serpentina and Osvaldo Ruelas Ramirez.
Context: La Catrina is most often displayed during Dia de los Muertos, meant to depict an elegant skeletal figure often draped in colorful garb.
If you go: The exhibit (1400 Curtis St.) is visible from 7am-10pm until Nov. 2.
