Denver's beloved artisan bakery Rebel Bread is expanding its recipe for success with a new cafe, teaching kitchen and larger production space opening Friday on South Broadway.
Why it matters: Rebel Bread aims to create a community hub where Denverites can learn, linger and break bread together.
Dig in: The spacious new cafe will pour fresh-brewed coffee from Huckleberry Roasters and serve Gino Panino sandwiches alongside Rebel's signature breads and pastries.
- Tentatively starting Sept. 19, it will offer pizzas on Friday evenings.
The intrigue: The revamped shop now doubles as a baking school.
- A quarterly schedule of classes will cover everything from tortilla-making and high-altitude baking to pasta and plant-based essentials.
- The fall "semester" kicks off Sept. 20, and registration is open.
