Colorado moms build a political refuge in podcast form

What they're saying: "We knew there was a want and need for real, relatable political conversations, especially from moms who feel left out of today's extremes," co-host Tanya Nathan of Denver said in a statement.

• The goal is "to build a space where moms, voters, and everyday people [feel] seen and heard," added co-host Sarah Andrews of Frisco, who met Nathan in 2016 while working on Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign.

The intrigue: Since debuting Aug. 5, "Momarchy" has cracked the nation's top 40 political podcasts and, as of Friday, remained in the top 250 overall, per Podstatus.

The big picture: The show joins a wave of podcasts made by women, for women — and arrives as mothers in politics gain more national attention, including Colorado Rep. Brittany Pettersen, whose push for new parents in Congress to vote remotely made major headlines this year.

What's next: New episodes drop Tuesdays on Apple, Spotify and other platforms, featuring a rotating cast of guests.
