Denver Broncos open training camp with public practices

Anticipation is building for the Denver Broncos as the team opens training camp and holds public practices this week.

State of play: The expectation this season is playoffs-or-bust with coach Sean Payton now in his third year and Bo Nix settling in as starting quarterback.

What to expect: The Broncos hold their first open practices Friday and Saturday at 10am.

Public sessions restart Monday and run all week at the same time.

If you go: Tickets are free but limited, in part because of construction at the team's headquarters.

What's next: The preseason starts Aug. 9 on the road against the San Francisco 49ers.

The regular season kicks off Sept. 7 against the Tennessee Titans at Empower Field.
