Denver's first padelcourt has arrived.
Zoom in: The sport β a mixture of pickleball, tennis and squash β debuted its first dedicated court in the city last month at Cloud 9 Park in the Hale neighborhood.
The court, operated by the Aspen Padel Club, sits inside the 9+CO development that includes housing, restaurants, storefronts and a movie theater.
How it works: Played in doubles in a small, more enclosed court than traditional tennis, padel allows players to "score" using both the court and the walls encompassing it.
By the numbers: More than 30 million people play the game worldwide, per the International Padel Federation, and the sport is slowly gaining steam in the U.S.
