Summer is right around the corner β officially starting June 20 β which means it's time to dust off that swimwear and make a splash.
The big picture: We've rounded up pool openings for Aurora, Denver, and Lakewood as the season kicks off, making it a necessity to find a place to cool down.
Aurora
ποΈ Drop-in costs start at $6 for adults.
β° Hours vary, with most sites opening at 11am or 1pm.

- Del Mar (12000 E. 6th Ave.)
- Meadow Hills (3609 S. Dawson St.)
- Parklane (13003 E. 30th Ave.)
- Pheasant Run (14971 E. Pheasant Run Pkwy.)
- Village Green (1300 S. Chambers Circle)
Zoom in: Two spray grounds are open at Great Plains Park (20100 E. Jewell Ave.) and Red-Tailed Hawk Park (23701 E. Hinsdale Way) from 10am to 7pm daily.
What's next: Outdoor pools close Sept. 1.
Denver
ποΈ Adults can also get an outdoor pool pass for $50. Each pool has a varied schedule including open swim time, lessons and laps.
- Zoom in: Visit for free with a Denver Parks and Recreation Center membership, or drop-in rates start at $3.50 for adults.
β° Hours vary, but most pools open shortly after 11am daily for open swimming and close around 6:30pm.

- Eisenhower Recreation Center (4300 E. Dartmouth Ave.)
- Garfield Park (1295 S. Lowell St.)
- Globeville Argo Park (4700 Logan St.)
- Green Valley Ranch (4455 Jebel St.)
- Harvard Gulch Recreation Center (550 E. Iliff Ave.)
- Harvey Park Recreation Center (2150 S. Tennyson Way)
- La Alma Recreation Center (1323 W. 11th Ave.)
- Southwest Recreation Center (9200 Saratoga Place)
Between the lines: Swansea and Mestizo Curtis won't open this season due to construction and maintenance.
- All pools will be closed June 19 and July 4.
What's next: The outdoor pool season ends Aug. 10.
Lakewood
ποΈ Admission is included for residents with recreation center memberships.
β° Hours vary by pool, but most typically open between 6am to 10am, closing as late as 7:30pm.
π Two pools and a splash pad are currently open, while two additional sites are scheduled to open mid-June:
- Carmody Park (2200 S. Kipling St.) Adult daily pass fee: $6
- Glennon Heights Park and Pool (10600 W. Virginia Ave.) Adult resident daily fee: $5
- Surfside Spray Park (5330 W. Ninth Ave) Resident daily fee: $2
What we're watching: The city is aiming for a mid-June opening for the Morse Park pool and Ray Ross Park splash pad, city officials tell us.
