Colorado lawmakers introduced more than 650 bills in this year's 120-day session, legislation that makes small tweaks and major changes.

Cost of living
๐ธ Limit undisclosed "junk" fees on goods and services by requiring disclosure before transactions
๐ Reduce the road safety surcharge on vehicle registrations by $3.70 for two years
๐ Permit an increase annually for motor vehicle title and registration services to account for inflation but no more than 5% per year.
โ Allow the state to increase vehicle emissions fees for Front Range drivers
Health care
๐ถ Block insurance companies from charging for necessary follow-up breast cancer exams and prenatal care checkups.
๐ผ Protect access to in vitro fertilization and modify regulations on donor banks
๐ฅ Enshrine access to abortion in the state constitution and allow state-paid abortion care for Medicaid enrollees and state government workers.
๐ Prevent surprise billing from public ambulances
Criminal justice
๐ถ Allow criminal charges against the owner of a dog who seriously injures an animal care worker
๐จ Reduce the CBI backlog of problematic rape testing kits through a $3 million appropriation and new rules related to misconduct
โ Establish a right for social visitation for prison inmates
โ Allow residents 72 years and older to opt out of jury service
๐ซ Make thefts of firearms a class 6 felony regardless of their value
โ Require additional training before the purchase of a semi-automatic firearm
๐จ Protect immigrants in the country illegally by limiting data sharing about their status
๐ธ Toughen penalties regarding the creation and sharing of intimate digital images
Education
๐ฐ Give colleges and universities the ability to increase resident tuition by 3% and non-resident tuition by 3.5% next year
๐ Require the state to adopt a new curriculum for Black history that is inclusive and recognizes "complex narratives that connect with contemporary realities"
๐ฑ Require schools to have policies about cellphones in the classroom
๐ Allow universities to pay collegiate student-athletes for the use of their name, image or likeness
Other
๐ Give newly established veterinarian assistants the ability to see patients with limited supervision
๐ฉท Allow a Colorado death certificate to reflect the chosen gender identity of the decedent
๐ฎ Prohibit cell-cultivated meat from being marketed as a meat product
๐ Encourage trucks to add tire chains by allowing third parties to offer those services.
๐ Protect against discrimination at the ballot box by codifying current federal protections around voting into state law.
๐ฐ Make it easier to end a subscription by requiring companies to add an online cancellation option
โฝ Require sports betting companies to pay taxes on free bets offered to users
๐ณ Make it harder to run future ballot measures
๐ Prohibit home insurers from discriminating against pet owners and allowing those in public housing to have pets
