"May Day" protests planned across Colorado on Thursday

Two dozen demonstrations are planned across Colorado today, May Day, as part of a nationwide wave of protests against what organizers call President Trump's "war on working people."
Why it matters: Public resistance to the Trump administration has been intensifying in Colorado and across the country as he faces sinking approval ratings, and Americans increasingly witness the ramifications of his policies.
By the numbers: Over 70,000 protesters are expected nationwide, organizers said.
Zoom in: Two events are scheduled at the state Capitol, including a 3pm march and rally backed by more than a dozen organizations.
- The second, dubbed "A Day Without Immigrants," starts at 5pm and is organized by Aurora Unidos CSO, a grassroots group calling for the legalization of all people, an end to militarized borders and stronger protections for families.
