The March Madness games coming to Denver

March Madness descends on Ball Arena starting Thursday.

The big picture: Denver will host two rounds of the NCAA men's basketball tournament, including four matchups on Thursday in the Round of 64 and two in the Round of 32 on Saturday.

Context: The schools come from major conferences like the Big 10, Big 12 and SEC, plus some so-called "mid-major" programs.

The Thursday contests at Ball Arena include:

Montana (14) vs. Wisconsin (3) at 11:30am (TNT)
VCU (11) vs. BYU (6) at 2:05pm (TNT)
Yale (13) vs. Texas A&M (4) at 5:25pm (TBS)
UC San Diego (12) vs. Michigan (5) at 8pm (TBS)
