How to recycle your Christmas tree

• The program runs until Jan. 31.

Context: The city has three drop sites open from 8am to 2pm on weekdays.

• Central Platte Campus (1271 W. Bayaud Ave.)
• Cherry Creek Transfer Station (7301 E. Jewell Ave.)
• Havana Nursery (10450 Smith Rd.)

Additionally, Saturday drop sites will be available on Jan. 11 and 18 from 8am to 2pm. These include:

• Bruce Randolph School (3955 Steele St.)
• Carson Elementary (5420 E 1st Ave.)
• Central Platte Campus. Note: open until 4pm.
• Cherry Creek Transfer Station
• Congress Park (E. 9th and Josephine St.)
• Evie Dennis School Campus (4800 Telluride St.)
• Fred Thomas Park (2400 Quebec St.)
• Havana Nursery
• John F. Kennedy High School (2855 S. Lamar St.)
• Sloan's Lake Park (Northwest parking lot)

Between the lines: Trees can still be picked up by the large item trash pickup, but they won't be recycled.

What's next: You can pick up free mulch made from recycled trees in May.
