Denver's dining scene continues to evolve with the return of an iconic institution and an influx of new arrivals backed by big-name chefs.
Zoom in: Welton Street Cafe is back with its beloved soul food more than two years after closing its longtime Five Points location.
- The latest iteration, just down the street, doubles its dining capacity.
- Though the menu hasn't changed much, for the first time the business boasts a full bar, with a half-dozen cocktails on the list. Reservations.

🍲 Sorry Umma, which serves Korean-style hot pot in Westminster, is led by Peter Ho, the former executive chef at Boulder's Michelin-recommended Oak at Fourteenth.
🇵🇭 Magna Kainan, a highly anticipated Filipino restaurant in RiNo, is softly opening through Nov. 20. Chef Carlo Lamagna, a 2022 James Beard Finalist, helms the kitchen.
🥟 Dumplin', from Bonanno Concepts, offers Italian-Asian fusion with dishes like mascarpone mushroom dumplings and cacio e pepe ramen. It's in the West Highland neighborhood in the former location of Salt & Grinder, Bonanno's recently closed sandwich shop.
🥯 Odell's Bagels, also in West Highland, elevates the humble breakfast staple with toppings like hamachi and salmon roe. That's thanks to chef and owner Miles Odell, who's worked in Michelin-starred Japanese restaurants in New York.
🍜 Hangang Ramen in Aurora is a unique self-serve shop where diners can choose from a wall of 50 instant ramen varieties, heat the soup themselves with special cookers, and customize it with different toppings. See how it works.
☕ Change Please Coffee in Aurora is an international chain aiming to end homelessness through career development and employee support programs.
🍩 Electric Donut Factory is a food truck launched by Denver EDM artists Bear Grillz and Michael Stryer. Top items include a hamburger with a glazed donut bun and the fried chicken donut sandwich.
🌮 Luchador Taco & More, which took off as a food truck in 2022, is inspired by the Mexican heritage of chef Zuri Resendiz, a former champion of the Food Network's "Chopped." His new brick-and-mortar is in Denver's Whittier neighborhood.
🥪 Gino Panino is a grab-and-go Italian sandwich pop-up from Rebel Bread. You can find their focaccia sandos at their retail counter on South Broadway.

🥐 Hearth Bakery + Coffee Shop's second cafe will bring fresh-baked pastries, cookies and bread to Denver's Uptown neighborhood starting Friday.
🐟 Mezcaleria Alma — the latest Mexico City-inspired concept from acclaimed chef Johnny Curiel — opens Saturday. It's next to Curiel's Michelin-starred Alma Fonda Fina and will offer a seafood-centric menu and lots of tequila.
