If you're wondering how much candy to hand out to each trick-or-treater this Halloween, two pieces seems to be the sweet spot.
By the numbers: We asked Axios Denver readers to sink their teeth into the great candy debate, and half of our 100-plus survey respondents say they're doling out two treats per goblin at the door.
- About 41% are extra generous, giving three or more pieces, including 8% who say they let little ones grab as many as they want.
π¬ We also asked readers to share the best and worst candies to give or get.
- Reese's, Snickers and full-sized candy bars were favorites, while Candy Corn, Tootsie Rolls and black licorice were widely disliked.
π°οΈ Zoom in: Additionally, we wanted to know how old is too old and how late is too late to go trick-or-treating.
- Most respondents felt 16 was the ideal cut-off age, but more than two dozen told us age is just a number β it's the costume that counts.
- For Halloween curfews, the majority (61%) said trick-or-treating after 9pm is a no-no.
π§ββοΈ The intrigue: When it comes to overrated costumes, readers tell us they're tired of seeing people dress up as political figures like former President Donald Trump, along with pop-culture icons like Taylor Swift and Barbie.
The bottom line: Readers agree that if you're taking your kiddo trick-or-treating, only ring doorbells at houses with an outside light on β and above all else, don't forget to say "trick-or-treat!"
