Park of the Week: Congress Park

The city recently completed a major update to Congress Park to ensure it stays a neighborhood favorite.

The vibe: The expanded children's playground debuted last month, providing a welcoming space for families, with newly connected sidewalks throughout the park that improve overall accessibility.

If you go: Take a dip at the Congress Park Pool, which reopened in August 2022 after $10.1 million in renovations. It's open seven days a week until mid-August.

Day passes start at $3.50 for adults, while a season pass costs $50. It's free with a rec center membership.

Fun fact: The park is actually named after the U.S. Congress.

It was done as a thank you after the federal government helped turn the space into a park rather than a cemetery, according to History Colorado.
