America's birthday is around the corner, and plenty of public fireworks and drone shows around Denver will be lighting up the sky in celebration.
Here are eight spots to find July Fourth fun:
Denver's Civic Center Park Independence Eve on July 3 will feature 300 drones, two light shows projected on park structures, a performance from the Colorado Symphony's brass and percussion ensemble, plus a market with food and retail vendors.
Dick's Sporting Goods Park's 4thFest on July 4 includes what it dubs the "largest public fireworks show in the state of Colorado" after the 7:30pm Colorado Rapids game against Sporting Kansas City.
- A family-friendly pregame festival, starting at 5pm, will include live music, a bounce house, a rock-climbing wall, mechanical bull and more.
- There will also be a block party before the game on the south side of the stadium with a live DJ, food trucks, drinks and an LED wall livestreaming the Rapids game and other MLS matches.
The Colorado Rockies will put on a fireworks show at Coors Field following games against the Milwaukee Brewers on July 4 and the Kansas City Royals on July 5.
Elitch Gardens will pop fireworks on July 5 at 9pm after the park closes for the day.
Zoom out: On July 3, Lakewood is hosting a drone light show. On July 4, fireworks shows will be held in Arvada, Aurora and Thornton.
The intrigue: Boulder isn't putting on a fireworks or drone show this year after its 24-year-long public-private partnership with WK Real Estate recently came to an end.
The big picture: Dozens of dazzling Independence Day displays are planned across the state, so you won't have to travel far to see some sparkles.
