Like Army Rangers 80 years ago on D-Day,U.S. Rep. Jason Crow jumped from a World War II-era C-47 propeller plane and parachuted near the beaches of Normandy.
Crow (D-Aurora) served in the 82nd Airborne Division and 75th Ranger Regiment, both of which were part of the Normandy invasion that began June 6, 1944.
What he's saying: "America is at its best when we put aside self-interest and do great things for the betterment of our country, just like those units and the Greatest Generation did decades ago," he said in a statement from France.
