A one-of-a-kind mansion made of glass, metal and stone is for sale for $8.5 million in Cherry Hills Village.
Why it matters: It's the first time the house, which features a private pickleball court and glass staircase, has hit the market in two decades.
Details: The 8,346-square-foot stunner, located at 14 Random Road, sits on 2.4 acres and boasts six bedrooms, five bathrooms, a pool and a spa.
- Michael Brendle designed the 2002 home. The local architect is also known for the Denver Public Library's Lowry branch, which features a two-story atrium of clear and sandblasted glass.
- Brendle used $1 million worth of Belgian floor-to-ceiling glass throughout the house — including on a glass bridge hallway in the second story — to allow for sprawling mountain and golf course views, per LIV Sotheby's.
Flashback: The home last sold in 2003 for $3.6 million, the Denver Business Journal reports.
