If you're nominated — and pay a $3,000 annual fee — you can now join Denver's new members-only club.
Why it matters: The exclusive Clayton Members Club in Cherry Creek opened Thursday. It's attached to a new hotel by the same name, all attempting to make Denver more hip.
- It's also promising a diverse membership and inclusivity.
The intrigue: The amenities include five restaurants, a rooftop pool, fitness center, a co-working space and more.
- Three restaurants — Of a Kind, the Oak Market cafe; and forthcoming Five Nines speakeasy — are open to the public.
The big picture: The Clayton is modeled on SoHo House and its locations in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago.
- Yes, but: That global chain snubbed Denver. “They frankly didn’t think Denver had a deep enough creative class yet,” Clayton developer Matt Joblon told BusinessDen.
