A nonprofit organization with ties to the state opened a special account to help support the Boulder shooting victims and their families.

Why it matters: The Colorado Healing Fund β€” started in 2018 with a $1 million donation from the state attorney general's office β€” offers a secure method to donate.

  • The fund sends money it collects to community partners, including the Colorado Organization of Victim Assistance, who offer money for direct support.
  • The fund received more than 100 individual donations in the first 24 hours, officials reported.
