Ohio election fatigue is real — and I'm over it

Please tell me I'm not the only one ready for this election to be over.
Why it matters: Ohio has been a battleground for some of the country's most contentious races, and the nonstop campaigning has made Election Day feel like it can't come soon enough.
The big picture: We've been bombarded with hundreds of millions of dollars in political ads, mostly telling us how terrible the other candidate is.
- Turn on the TV? Attack ads. Check the mailbox? Doomsday postcards. Look at your phone? Another unsolicited text.
State of play: The campaigns haven't exactly helped matters.
- The governor's race between Vivek Ramaswamy and Amy Acton has turned particularly ugly, while Ohio's fiercely contested U.S. Senate race has brought its own avalanche of attacks and accusations.
Zoom in: Last week alone, I received at least two dozen political texts, including a video of rapper and "Law & Order: SVU" star Ice-T reminding me to vote.
- Perhaps the strangest appeal was a vaguely threatening postcard from a Missouri man named "Bill" that somehow doubled as a reminder about dog bite prevention.
Between the lines: As a journalist, I understand the stakes. Elections matter.
- Yes, but: There's a difference between informing voters and exhausting them.
The bottom line: I'll be glued to the results Tuesday night, and we'll have you covered (shoutout to political guru Sam).
- Come Wednesday, I'm looking forward to a mailbox free of campaign flyers and an episode of "Jeopardy!" without political ads.
