Cleveland is America's fastest-growing pickleball city

• Huntsville, Alabama, ranked second at 70.6%, followed by Seattle at 70%.

Between the lines: DUPR — short for Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating — lets players track their skill level and find competitive matches. The rankings measure growth among app users rather than overall pickleball participation.

The big picture: The geographically diverse list suggests pickleball's growth is extending beyond the warm-weather locales traditionally associated with the sport.

Zoom in: The number of pickleball courts in Cleveland nearly doubled from seven in 2025 to 13 in 2026, including Cleveland Pickleball Center, the city's first permanent indoor pickleball facility.

What's next: The annual indoor tournament Pickle in the Land returns to the Huntington Convention Center next month.
