Browns-Steelers showdown puts Cleveland's 2-1 start to the test

State of play: Cleveland is 2-1 after consecutive victories over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Take that, Baker Mayfield!) and the Carolina Panthers.

• The team has rebounded nicely after an ugly 34-10 season-opening loss in Jacksonville.

Reality check: The Browns haven't exactly dominated. Their offense ranks 30th in yards per game and 24th in scoring.

Zoom in: Deshaun Watson, who everyone wanted benched after the first week, threw for just 144 yards in Sunday's 21-18 win over Carolina.

• Yes, but: He engineered the game-winning drive, connecting with Harold Fannin Jr. for a touchdown with less than two minutes remaining.

The big picture: Every AFC North team enters Week 4 at 2-1, making Thursday the Browns' first divisional game and an early chance to separate themselves from the pack.

Flashback: Browns fans have seen promising starts evaporate before. Beating Pittsburgh under the lights would make this one a little harder to dismiss.

• Cleveland has history on its side, going 7-0 in Thursday Night Football games since 2018.

If you go: Tickets are still available for the 8:15pm game at Huntington Bank Field, but they'll cost you at least $275.

• The game will air on Amazon Prime Video and WEWS Channel 5.
