Sci-fi goes supersized at Great Lakes Science Center

Great Lakes Science Center is going big for movie night this fall, with three sci-fi favorites headed to its giant DOME Theater.

State of play: The Science Center's monthly DOME Movies After Dark series continues Oct. 22 with Jordan Peele's 2022 sci-fi horror hit "Nope," starring Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer as siblings trying to capture evidence of a UFO.

What's next: Christopher Nolan's "Interstellar" lands Nov. 19.

The 2014 space epic, starring Matthew McConaughey, won an Oscar for visual effects — which should look especially impressive stretched across the theater.

Plus: "V for Vendetta," the 2005 dystopian thriller starring Natalie Portman and Hugo Weaving, closes out the fall lineup Dec. 17.

💭 Sam's thought bubble: I first saw "Interstellar" in 2015 at the Science Center, back when the DOME was still known as the Omnimax Theatre.

I'm putting all three of these dates in my calendar.

If you go: All three movies begin at 6pm on Thursdays.

Tickets are $10.95 for adults and $8.95 for kids ages 2-12.
The Science Center is open until 8pm Thursdays, giving moviegoers the option to explore the museum and NASA Glenn Visitor Center beforehand with a separate general admission ticket.
