State of play: Eritrean immigrant Senayt Fekadu opened the fast food restaurant on Woodland Avenue specializing in chicken tenders in 2019.
I'd heard rave reviews, but never passed through around mealtime.
This week, I made a special trip.
What I ate: A delicious platter of chicken tenders, crinkle-cut fries, coleslaw and garlic butter toast.
The format is almost identical to Raising Cane's, down to the tangy house sauce. But local diners will likely appreciate supporting a hometown minority- and woman-owned business.
Zoom in: The menu is simple by design. You can get tenders on their own, on a bun, in a wrap or on a waffle. Otherwise, it's just sides and sauces.
Meals fall in the $11-$15.50 range and feel like a bargain.
What's next: Fekadu is expanding to a second location in Parma Heights, with plans to open this fall, per Cleveland Scene.
