Bibb pitches Cleveland in trip to London

Mayor Justin Bibb spent last week in the U.K. at the Farnborough International Airshow, pitching Cleveland as a destination for aerospace, defense and advanced manufacturing investment.

Why it matters: Bibb told the security industry publication Defense One the trip was about "putting Cleveland in the conversation."

He pitched the city's new Midline industrial corridor, its aerospace expertise as exemplified by NASA Glenn and its manufacturing workforce to global companies considering expansion.

Zoom in: Bibb also met with business leaders and toured the Cleveland Clinic's London campus, per his LinkedIn.

What they're saying: At the Airshow, he defended Cleveland's recent temporary data center moratorium.

He told the publication FDI Intelligence the city is pursuing a "common sense regulatory framework" that balances economic growth with residents' concerns about energy use and surveillance.

Between the lines: The Cleveland Foundation, not city taxpayers, paid for the trip, per Signal Cleveland.
